Here are two photos from past shoots that I like a lot. I've been thinking about the difference between art and porn. I don't think they're always mutually exclusive. I think there can be art in porn and porn in art. I guess a lot depends on who's looking at it and what your eye, libido, and morality bring to it. As I've said before, a photographer told me once that if you have an erection and you're looking at the camera, it's porn. He meant it in a very negative way. So I guess the first shot is porn. But there's something in the attitude that I think goes beyond that (my thanks to the photographer Greg Weiner). And in the second picture, I'm not totally erect, but my eyes are on the camera, so...? I just think it's a terrific shot by Johnie Thornton. And there are folks who would look at both photos and just say they're porn and call it a day. Show your dick, it's porn. If that's how you feel, ok...I don't agree with such a blanket statement...it's very Right Wing. But I try to see the art in all of it, and if I see the art in the first pic and you call me delusional, I accept that. I don't agree, but I accept it. The eye of the beholder, and all that. I just think there's a lot of gray area that needs to be considered if you're going to slough something off as just porn. Having said that, sometimes all you want to do is get off looking at naked pictures and videos of hot men (however you define "hot") fucking, sucking, and having a grand old time.. Great. I do too and thank god for porn. But I also like when there's a little extra...an attitude, a story, a point of view. It's like when I watch porn and the guys are decent actors, it's immediately more of a turn-on, but just watching guys get right to it and fuck can be a turn-on, too. I know I'm rambling here. I guess what I'm saying is there's room for all of it and all of it is good, just "different strokes..." and all that. Strokes. Mmm. Anyway...just my rumination this morning. I'm gonna go jack my cock. Feel free to send me comments. Have a great day!
